To protect the privacy of telecommunication consumers, the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) recently established CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) Title 47 Part 64.2010. This new regulation mandates that telecommunications companies ask their customers to create a confidential verification code in order to protect their privacy and verify their identity when obtaining account information.How are MTA customers affected?
MTA representatives will sometimes require your verification code when you conduct business with us. We will need your code when you add or remove services, ask billing questions, request copies of your statements, and sign up to use MTA NetBill.How does this affect my MTA NetBill usage?
If you already have an MTA NetBill username and password, nothing has changed. You may continue to use this convenient online service without any additional verification or procedures. For new MTA NetBill users, there will be one additional step requested upon sign-up. You will need to enter your pre-established verification code along with your statement number, account number, user name, and password. The verification code will only be requested one time – to set up your MTA NetBill identity. After that, you will be able to log in with just a user name and password.
How do I establish my verification code?
To establish your personal and confidential verification code, choose 3 to 10 characters that are letters and/or numbers – no symbols and no spaces. To have your code entered into our records, you may either:Bring your code to an MTA store in Eagle River, Palmer or Wasilla, or
Call MTA at 800-478-3211 or 745-3211, from the main phone number listed at the top of your MTA statement (important if you have a consolidated statement).
